Well done Cathapple! π
It might still be on Krisaby. We’re keeping our eyes peeled. Thank you, I have just remembered something Beattie asked me to do tonight. You have just saved my bacon!! π
And I wanted to say that Butterfly is doing an amazing job! She has had over 1000 hits on the morsbags Leicestershire Facebook page! We have redirected requests from outside Leicestershire to here. π
Congratulations Macs Bags!
And people tell us it means mother in Danish and waste in Afrikaan but that is just a coincidence.
Great that you have ordered some labels. Claire’s appearance on Women’s Hour has been very successful.
There might not be a pod in your area and we usually suggest just register one and just make a few bags for yourself to get the hang of it. Some people continue to make them on their own for a while, then maybe ask a few friends to come and join you. The combination of making morsbags, chat, tea/coffee/cake is usually a winner.
Also we have active Facebook pages that are worth a look! π
I think they do mess around with the scheduling. It moved from wednesday to sunday.
JC, I know quite a few morsbaggers who use cutting board, rotary cutter, and grid non slip rulers (Sazzie? Ivybags?) I think it is possible to cut quite a few at once taking care off course. It is a lot quicker.
My chosen method is to find someone who doesn’t particularly like sewing but is happy to cut out and/or iron! We have two! Mary Scissorhands and Ruth. Both will only use scissors though. I remember Sazzie telling Mary Scisorhands about rotary cutters and she poo-poo-ed them!
Also in our pod there are variations. Two of our morsbaggers, Rita and Sue don’t iron unless showing new morsbaggers, the rest of us iron. Kay really thought taking an iron to events was dangerous so we stopped and she now irons all our kits while the motor racing is on tv!
So really its horses for courses with no right or wrong way. As Beattie said no pressure. Every morsbag is of equal importance if is made on its own or part of a batch. Well done for making bags a day for march. Its more than I have done, I only managed 4!! I loved what Pol said on the radio that her bag a day punctuated her day.
Fantastic!:-D
I have had emails today from people who heard the programme and want to come along to our pod meetings. I think this will have long reaching effects due to the podcasts etc.
Very well done Pol!
Lock your wardrobes Matthews family!!
Hi Mad Old Croan! I love your name too! Good luck with your morsbagging, I’m sure you’ll have lots of fun and inspire others along the way. π
new school new baggings!
Well I’m not sure people doing community service are ever enthusiastic but it is true they have had 3 deliveries of 500 in the last few months. They have a new boss who is very enthusiastic and 2 new supervisors which means they are running more sessions. Also at a recent visit I found out they are not making other things anymore, just morsbags. However I am not convinced that this is sustainable. For that 2 months they will have used over 750 metres of fabric! We can’t supply anywhere near that amount so chances are numbers will go down soon. We shall see! There will be no counting/distributing until mid April now. I am proud to have organised distribution of all those morsbags tho! π Here is my list for the last batch. Now I am working on where the next batch are going to!
Community Choir Festival 50bags
Lutterworth/Blaby/cosby farmer’s market via Sue Lamont 100 bags
Oadby food bank 50bags
Mosaic Food Bank 50 bags
Brocks Hill Easter Fair 50 bags
Brocks Hill Shop 50 bags
World Book Day (Countesthorpe via Chris) 100 bags
Witness support (via Freda) 100 bagsπ
