And I think I’d list whales, seals and turtles as the animals who’d be grateful! Lists of three work – ask any orator! π
Thanks for putting it together for us to copy Pol! I’m grateful π
What a lovely space to work in! It’s great seeing all those morsbags being made π
What a star!! Miss Evie is NEVER going to use plastic bags, by the look of it! π
Your patient must be very poorly! Hope he /she is better soon.

Happy to oblige Sazzie, I hope I’ve put it where you wanted it!

Readers of our local newsletter could be reminded that morsbags still exists and are still available. When Aggie Baggies was running we used to have a regular item in the local newsletter / advertising paper.
January 28, 2014 at 9:43 pm in reply to: Let's get Morsbags into every local newsletter in the same month… #1840We’ve been racking our brains trying to think of somewhere that would let us have a space, central in the village, that isn’t booked up already & would lend it free. Not coming up with anywhere at the mo, but will contact the local newsletter when we get back to offer a free bag on request within a 5 mile radius. M/c was a bit worried people would ask us to send shedloads to rellies in the boondocks.
How did your Make or Take go Waley? π
I agree with Sazzie, “Wowsers, Team Leicester!!” π
I DID add up the numbers – and it takes teamwork and dedication to make and distribute that many bags – Gold Medals to all involved!
I’m glad you managed to miss the hailstorm Sazzie. I hope you dodged the worst of it Offcuts & Grumpy. Well done to Butterfly’s caterpillars who bagged the village en masse
“Well done” also to JC – isn’t it weird that people turn down a free bag? We did get a few who watched from a distance, saw other people getting a bag with no “GOTCHA!” moment – they didn’t have to pay after all, or fill in a form – and then changed their minds, came and got a bag after all. If someone wants to give you something in return it’s perfectly acceptable for them to give you old curtains, or bed linen (though sometimes that can be a bit “tired”).
Hmmmnnnn, well, I’ll post later about the haddock – I did get some interesting shots, but not THE crucial one. No doubt the whole episode has already appeared on youtube!
We set out for Redruth, well known (as I’m sure you are already aware) as the first town to intall gas lighting in the streets! Forward-thinking or what?
We managed to give away our bags – as M/C has said, a surprising number of people rushed past, refusing all our offers. On the other hand, several came back for more – for carers, for girlfriends, one chap gave two bags to friends when they met up at the bottom of the statue of the miner where they obviously had agreed to meet.
Some of the people we did manage to speak to –
This lady had trouble choosing which bag to have for her veggies –
This young man was too busy finishing his pasty to hold the bag he chose
The bronze wellie-dogs got in on the action, though I notice that one dog has dropped his bag already!
I would have liked to give a morsbag to the miner a bit further up the street to hold aloft, but he was perched too high up on a column for me to give it to him. π
What about the haddock?? You’ll have to go to catch-up for that!
Ooooh, lots to read while eating breakfast!! π
25th January is a great choice of day, Pol. It’s dawned dry (for a change..) and not too cold here. I have my morsbags t shirt on, I’ll load up the car & we’ll be off soon.
ALL morsbags are gorgeous – it’s just that some appeal more to one person than another!! π
Hi Squeak! Nice to hear from you!! π I hope your handout goes well on Saturday – I take it you’ll be giving away the bags AFTER the run??
JC, you can post photos on here or on flickr. (I only put them on flickr to get them onto here π ) I was a bit surprised to find that we couldn’t carry them over onto here as you’ve got your photos set so they can’t be downloaded elsewhere. I didn’t know that was an option.
I tried to post the photos but failed!
Then I noticed this “The owner has disabled downloading of their photos” Oh well….They ARE lovely bags π I especially like the one on the right

Good luck with your new venture – I hope your shop works out well for you and your friend. I can just see you there, minding the shop and making goodies in between serving customers π
