So what do people think so far?
At our recent event at Visit Leicester Sue and I went for lunch, she had the sense to take her beloved KR!!! bag. When we were returning by pure luck I saw lady with my sock bag. We ran over to her and said there’s been a mistake that bag is display only; it was in the window! Luckily she was very understanding and gave it back! If it had gone I would have been philosophical about it.
Beattie you once said to me you must be prepared to give away every morsbag even if they are on display!
Its not a morsbag without a morsbag label. The idea is to refer people to the website and hence the growth
Beattie, re the iron on labels, it isn’t just washing that wears away the ink; it is the constant rubbing against stuff that mainly rubs it out.
Grubby Vegetarins is a great name for a pod…………..!
Just my colours all of them! Love the seersucker. Was it a tablecloth? Have you managed to source any fabric from people who have had bags yet?
Wow that is an amazing total. Yes quite a few of them might be offcuts2. Two months worth from them because we didn’t meet in august to count them.
Offcuts2 have a new name now – Trusty Bags. Their choice! They have settled back down to 200 a week now. A manageable number to find homes for.
Today 200 went to Billesden annual farmer’s market. They are east Leics and first time they have had any morsbags. I would like them to start their own pod as it is a little villages with a village shop and a community centre. Perfect!
50 went to an apple press day in Dunton Bassett which is south west Leics and a new area for us to supply
And 60 went to our hosts Brocks Hill Visitor Centre who had 60 for a food fair.
Thank you Beattie for the stats. I am always interested to see who is making bags but I am very nosy!
Sorry,East Midlands Today was only on inlayer for a day! Makes sense I suppose!!
Well done Hilly! Lots of us have had starts like that and are still here churning them out!
I keep a walking foot on one of our machines just to use on shiney and thick fabrics but it does clank a bit and is a bit slower.
Good luck and thank you for joining us 🙂
Yes I think it was about half an hour. It was very much a case of me being there at the request of
The Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland Community Rehabilitation Company Limited
that is why the emphasis is on them and the curtain drive is for fabric for them. They need 200 METRES PER WEEK!
I hope it was clear enough that morsbags are made by good people all over the world not just naughty people in Leicestershire!!
On the TV link us giving away the bags on saturday was cut! Anyway hopefully even more people will have heard of morsbags now which was the point!
Thank you Beattie! I was wondering about that. I think Joe can tell how many hits have been made?
People were so ready for it from what I could see!
