oooh – I like that idea Offcuts – brill.
Shall I put an example template for scrutiny; then we can change it with suggestions and then email it to people?
I’m going to bag 2 local cafes… they usually have blankets on the outside chairs, so if it’s still cold in March, I’ll add a morsbag to the blanket….
January 30, 2014 at 12:11 am in reply to: Let's get Morsbags into every local newsletter in the same month… #1846I don’t think you have to actually offer to host an event in a newsletter, more just let people know that there is someone making morsbags locally, does anyone have any spare fabric, does anyone fancy giving morsbags a go and need an initial hand to get started etc. etc. What are the boondocks?!
January 20, 2014 at 2:41 am in reply to: 35th International Morsbagging Weekend 18th/19th January? #1696Wow! I loved reading through all that!! Well done everyone and love the numbers Beattie! Also love the idea of a morsbags race off (I’m not at all competitive either Beattie – it might be the Aries thing!) – Fancypants is a lovely lady called Joan in the USA who recently joined. Sorry I missed all the fun; was internet-less in Mexico but in the spirit of the weekend, posted some labels locally to a Mexican pod (sadly too far away for me to visit) so hope that counts for something. Can’t wait for the next one… as loved hearing about everyone’s weekend activities and totals π
Many CONGRATULATIONS to Beattie, Masterclock and Scallywagbags for coming joint first!!! Just couldn’t get our judge (Zoe) to choose between them – She said “all have a common theme of a take on the Christmas tree – Masterclock’s was inspired, illuminated and complicated, Beattie’s was multi- dimensional and must have taken forever to put together in such a skillful, colourful way and Scallywagbag’s was dreamy, arty and good as a picture to hang on the wall!! Impressed with how professional the morsbags look and how much time, care and imagination morsbaggers have! Horribly hard decision making process and well done everyone. Tough to choose.”
Prizes are on their way…
Trees may have been the winning theme, but special mention must go to sprouts and snow dogs – the standard was so incredibly high by everyone and it took Zoe ages to deliberate and choose…. thank you so much for entering with such stunning bags and hopefully they will make fantastic gifts for lucky recipients this Christmas π
Oh no! That’s my favourite part – will get Joby in to come and help… he’ll ask what exactly you’re having problems with? Can you give more detail?
Aah – thought there was a connection somewhere – thank you for reminding me! Also, LOVE your avatar!! Is it you?
I love everyone’s new avatars!
Thank you so much for doing that Beattie – a REAL help and I also didn’t know most of those! π- This reply was modified 11 years ago by Pol.
Hi Anniebag – lovely to have you here! Freecycle sounds like a great idea – I think we even have a few pods who made their way here via Freecycle many moons ago (Cathapple? or did I imagine that?) as they were giving away morsbags with the free things they were advertising. Please feel free to get anyone involved, from anywhere! The more the merrier… Local shops are also a really good option for getting free material – I’m sure others on here can come up with success stories; failing that, try advertising locally for material donations and/or set up a ‘drop off’ place in a shop/library/church – people are generally pretty positive to have an ethical outlet for their fabric clutter. Perhaps use one of the headed posters in the resources section to do that: https://morsbags.com/resources/… Good luck with finding others to make morsbags with you but solopodding can be very productive too. Also, just to mention, attaching a morsbags label is how the word spreads, so hope you will be involved in the January handout giving away morsbags π

Hello loopychris – lovely to see you over here! Thank you for reminding us of that area: here’s a link; https://morsbags.com/forums/forum/catch-non-morsbag-related-chat/
Just to reassure everyone that all the ‘gold’ on the old forum hasn’t been lost and that there will be a link to go back and look at previous topics…
