ParticipantYes it is. They’ve done quite a bit of work there over the winter so the veggie cafe is even more lovely than ever. We had some amazing lemon & ginger cheesecake today. There was another workshop going on today too. People were making fabulous chairs. (Out of willow I think)

ParticipantI make most of my bags with a side fold. I got into the habit of it because I use a lot of children’s fabric that does have a “right way” up.
I pin my handles the same distance for the edge on both sides. To make them even, when I do my final seams, I sew up the folded side with a good seam allowance. (Not sure that makes sense when I right it down but it works for me!)
I love the way we all have our only little ways, shortcuts and tips and all end up making such fabulous bags!butterfly bags
ParticipantThat’s great that so many pods were busy making bags!

ParticipantWe’ve had great feedback from the people who handed bags out for us. A couple of people have asked for more because there weren’t enough to go round! We’ve also had a request to supply another food bank. They have been struggling with old carrier bags so Morsbags will be ideal and they will encourage people to take the bags back and use them again.

ParticipantAs is often the case, we did things a little differently in Leicester! Lol. We sorted around 300 bags into bags of 10. We then passed them on to various friends of morsbags who offered to spread the morsbag love via facebook. Because of the Bank Holiday, some of the bags will be given away today. The bags will certainly be reaching people who haven’t heard of morsbags before. One lady, with her young daughter, delivered them to their neighbours. Some have gone to be handed out in school playgrounds, others in school staff rooms. A few have gone to offices and some more to a food bank and community groups. One lady has reported back to us already that she handed them out to the children in her nursery school. Apparently they all had fun looking through the bags and choosing their favourite.
(Photos on facebook, sorry I can’t do the Flickr thing!)
Our morsbagger Freda, went along to the local walk-in clinic and handed some out there too!
It’s great to think of all those morsbags finding new homes and reducing the use of plastic!butterfly bags

ParticipantI’ve just been getting lots of bags ready for the big handout. We asked if anyone on our facebook group would like some to giveaway. We’ve have had about 10 people offer to give bags away at their workplace, school playground or to their neighbours. Great way for morsbags to reach some new people.
