Hello Itsloopylisa! Welcome to the forum, and to morsbags. Congratulations on getting round to making your first two morsbags πŸ˜€ They are lovely! Also, congratulations on managing to post your photos – it’s not the very easiest of procedures. Though, as you say, small labels were intended for small bags, I like your idea of putting one on each side to make up πŸ˜†

I don’t have a way of contacting them Offcuts, and they were always very clear that they made the programmes, but the scheduling was out of their hands. They are supposed to let T&A know (who will then let us know) when it’s coming up, but nothing so far.

Of course!! It’s Siberian! I was thinking Norwegian, or Saami.

Not on prog 3 either. While we were filming the crew said they were working on programmes 5 and 6, but they wouldn’t necessarily be shown in the order they were made.

RE March 16th – I hadn’t spotted the piping that you’d managed to keep, til Offcuts mentioned it! Brilliant job, Pol – well worth the expenditure of needles!!

Difficult choices!! As I scrolled down to each one, I got a new favourite!! πŸ˜€

Black & white dramatic / nice geese brightening up a plain bag / flowery sparkles!!/ “bang on the door”- type cartoon – which to choose??

    March 19th, by a whisker πŸ˜€

Good for Prince Charles, flagging up the problem of plastic in the seas again.

And I read the “Wet Wipe” story too – I guess the “Bag It and Bin It” message needs repeating ad infinitum. I haven’t got any to check, but I suppose it DOES say “do not flush” on the packet/ canister?

Thank you Offcuts! I’m glad you were able to use the info I trawled together for you. I hope the meeting went well.

If I’d known the slide was going to be there I might well have taken my wetsuit and had a go, early on, or as everyone was packing up!! πŸ˜€

We’d have liked to see the demonstrations by the Search & Rescue dogs too, but were much too busy ourselves.

OF COURSE it’s OK Pol!! I don’t know how you keep up with all the different websites – I don’t think I’d ever get off my butt if I did them too.

It just struck me, when I was adding some bags to my tally, that we don’t usually know who else is making them.

More lovely bags! I know what you mean about sewing up that filmy fabric – it’s so ornery!! Makes super, space-saving bags though!

Every now and then we take on “The Bitsa Challenge” and try to use up the awkward bits that are too attractive to throw away, but are too small on their own to make a bag. It’s very satisfying to work your way through a box of nice bits and use them all up! That Paddington bag will be very popular, I’m sure! πŸ˜€

Have you ever experienced indoor drizzle? We arrived early at our marquee in Newquay to find it raining inside!! It was condensation on the inside dropping onto us. M/C noted the warning by the path leading to the tent –

The student organising the tent showed us the tables we were to share with Tanya and her silk painting, and then found us a whole lot more!! Great work, Sally! πŸ˜€

We set up our machines, kits and bags, then Tanya arrived and decided we’d be much better placed in the corner – she hadn’t made her lovely new bunting for it not to be used and there was nowhere to hang it where we were, so we moved the unsuspecting, not-yet-arrived other people and re-arranged ourselves. And a good move it was! One of the unsuspecting didn’t turn up and the other didn’t need a whole lot of space, so we had done everyone a favour – honest!! πŸ˜‰
    Spot the difference –
    Before –

    "Before" 1

    After –

    After the move

After the usual slow start that Masterclock used to fettle the machines which hadn’t been used for a bit, we got busy, busy, busy! Just time for a few photos.

Our first customer of the day –

    "Rosy" bagmaker

    And the last two –

    Our last 2 customers

I often try to guess which bag a person will pick, having noticed that they almost always pick one in a colour that goes with what they’re wearing at the time. This family picked a bag that went with the buggy it was to hang from!

    Bag with toning buggy

We gave out quite a few bags, but not as many as expected. This was partly due to the high proportion of children sewing, keeping us engrossed in keeping them safe.

Before we got busy, I got a few snaps of the other attractions at the Fun Day. Have you ever come across “tarp surfing”? They were using the biggest tarpaulin I’ve ever seen.

I don’t know what they called this, but it looked like fun!

The Marine Conservation had an excellent display, and an aquarium arrived later with a little shrimp, a clingfish (which I’d never heard of before) and a weever fish (which I’ve met twice too often).

Tanya was offering silk painting and had beautiful prepared fabric for punters to paint and mount into a card, making a wonderful Mothers Day (or any other occasion) card. I was very tempted to have a go, but we were too busy ourselves.

They gave wonderful results – the age or skill of the artist was no bar to making a lovely card.

Anyway, there we are, a good day out, and 16 bags made! πŸ˜€
