ParticipantYes <gloom> nothing on the 17th in the today’s Telegraph guide either. Perhaps we should have created a bit more excitement for them, but I must admit my main aim was to keep it safe and calm.
Hard to see how there will be any audience given the way they keep shuffling things about, but then I don’t care for the way they keep reorganizing the supermarket so we can’t find things!masterclock
ParticipantI recall the time Beattie was bagging a poorly attended local environmental do. So she dressed up in a huge Morsbag to highjack bewildered passers-by off the street, and direct them in.
I often wondered what they thought. It reminded me of something on Monty Python.
Of course I was not a bagger then.masterclock

ParticipantI wonder, could you crochet a Morsbag. Out of recycled string of course??

ParticipantThe “solid” fabric seem to photograph best, but the gauzy fabrics are just as attractive in real life – (except everyone could see what you have bought ????)

ParticipantI’m getting used to the rumble of the sewing machine in the midnight hours as Beattie stays up to meet her target.
Mind you she is being very generous about my lathe…..

ParticipantI had a go with the Offcuts walking foot at a show a few months back. I love the “Heath-Robinson ” effect, and, like the original Heath-Robinson devices, it is surprisingly effective. On a theoretical level the foot “pace” length is fixed while the underneath feed dog driven system varies with the chosen stitch length. I have visions of the thing going round in circles or something. However a bit of thought shows that the usual foot has a “zero” pace and it works well enough.
Foot pedals do have a hard life and are hard to fix. As Offcuts says, best left to those who understand them.

ParticipantSeasons Greetings to all
Did you know that Christmas is when sewing machines come out of hibernation and migrate en mass to the caravan? Hush they are all snoring again.
