Do you want to tell us some more Offcuts? Where are these squadrons of scarecrows? One lot looks like a gang of mums and dads waiting to collect their scarekids from school! π I like the scareteddy too!
I did, and she did! π
Thank you so much, Ivybags, for a huge bagful of bags. I hope it stays dry for your flying visit. We’re now ready with plentiful supplies for next weekend πHi Ivybags! We’ve just got back from our trip to a Kentish funeral, sorry I didn’t see your post, I haven’t been online for a couple of days – been driving, mostly.
Masterclock has been working like a demon on the sewing machine (I’ve been cooking and gardening as well of sewing, so I’m only a third of a demon) and we’ve made 310 bags in the last two and a half weeks. More bags are always welcome, of course! Do you have any plans to visit Cornwall in the next week as the Padstow rally is in a week’s time.
If that’s not on, we are discussing a possible session in an art gallery in Penzance. We were invited ages ago, but didn’t want to tie ourselves down too far ahead. When Padstow is over I intend to contact them to see about a bagging event in July or August.
That’s a lovely bag to give to a new grandchild π Well done Mrs Morsbags Heroine, and Mr Morsbags Hero too!! It takes all kinds of skills, interests and personalities to get those bags made and out there, into the wild.
Masterclock is OUR piecing expert, and we know it takes a lot of extra time to make bags out of the little bits, but it’s great not having to throw perfectly good material away, just because it’s small pieces. π
Less than 2 weeks to go, and half of next week will be taken up as we have to go on a trip to Kent, but we still have 8 days to make 50 or so bags. I’m sure we can do it!! π We’ve made 250 or so since we came back from our hols.
It’s very kind of you to go to the trouble of ordering and stocking two sorts of labels Joe and Pol! I prefer the new ones now I’m used to them, but having the choice is good for those who don’t.
That’s a great poem!I copied it to print out and put up at handouts and other bagging events, but I feel it needs a couple of lines to finish it off somehow….. It needs to bring the word or concept of “morsbags” back to round it off.
I like the “frame it!” idea! π
Another lovely kitty! π
DON’T ASK ABOUT THE HORNET!! IT WAS THE SIZE OF A SMALL PLANE!! I HAD TO FACE IT ALONE!! IT WAS UP A TOWER THAT I HAD TO CLIMB BACK UP, ON MY OWN!! OPEN METAL LADDERS!! MESH PLATFORMS!! A SHED ON A POLE, WITH A HORNET TRAPPED IN IT!!
NOOOOOO!!!
YES!
IT HAD GONE WHEN I WENT BACK TO SHUT THE SHED DOOR
π
Phew!!Well
Hornet – not well!
I had found some of the old labels and attached them to some bags I made last week. Having got used to the new, square format and made lots of bags with them on now, it was a shock to go back to the old ones for a while. Maybe it’s lack of practice, but I found my stitching was a bit wobbly without the dotted line to help me. I don’t usually stitch right on it, but use it as a guide and sew a bit outside it.
I hope you and your pod will get used to the new labels too, Pickering Stitchers. It would be a shame to stop morsbagging because of such a small thing.
π
Bump so you can see it!
I looked for you specially, Offcuts. π At first I wondered if you’d taken the photo, but then I spotted you, peeping out from behind a chap in a suit. Nice red top you’ve got on! π
What a super, smiley photo! And a great article to go with it as well π Well done Harboroughites, you’ve done it again, with a momentous occasion and wonderful press coverage. What more could you ask for?? π
