I agree, Tori! Thanks for copying to your fb page. π
Oooh, goody! Thank you Joe! π I like it, it has elements of both the previous label designs.
I sewed my last “almost square” label onto a morsbag this afternoon. π
I had been using a few “long retro” labels now and again, but it seemed a bit sad to HAVE to go back to them having got used to the squarer ones.Is there any news about the possible label re-design? I understand the economics of stocking two sorts of labels, and that it might not be feasible.
I’ve just tried the Urban Dictionary and it didn’t give any definitions like the one you emailed to me, Offcuts, but I looked up “womble”. A bit more exploration and I find that “Wombling” gives the one you copied to me. Why does “urban” translate as “unpleasant”? I’m glad to be rural (goes away to look up if that has any nasty other meanings….)
Good going!:D
We’ve had a horrible day’s weather today – very good for encouraging me to make morsbags, so I made 7 today, plus a pile of kits cut up. Some of them were pieced as the strips of quite nice fabric were mostly about 12″ wide, and I have lots and lots of plain beige, cream and white stuff.Thank you! I’ve made some today but have supplemented a brocade front with a plain back. It made the turning in and out much easier, and it makes the lovely fabric stretch further.
Well done Tori! Share away! π I’ve been keeping the list for February, ready for updating and posting at the end of the month.
Please do, Tori, I’d be delighted! π
I regard anything on the forum as being in the public domain and wouldn’t mind it being shared on facebook, where appropriate.I found instructions for making a string bag, though –

(This one may be a bit small for shopping)
or this

(more of a shopping bag size)My google must be broken! I looked up “Beach Womble” and found lots of articles about people picking litter off beaches…. No :-O at all!
Whoops! Double post π³ Must be my bouncy fingers

Isn’t she gorgeous!! I’m sure her kittens would be blondes too π She’s got a lovely little face… π
Peggy Sue is on TV π
And the pirate-y one is Bluebeard, of course!! π
LOL! So appropriate! Maybe he’s Long John Blue π
You could sew the 2 layers of voile together before making the bag. Round the edges, or across to make a sort of quilted effect. But our grannies weren’t worried about people seeing their shopping in their string bags.
