In not sunny Redruth and I can hear Beattie doing her spiel. Quite a few given out. More refusals than we expected. Mainly by men on their way to the betting shop and dressed up ladies ???
Must get back to it

January 25, 2014 at 12:27 pm #1777It always baffles me when people refuse…. Even when you’ve explained it’s free…. Keep positive
January 25, 2014 at 12:32 pm #1778Finished and aiming for a cup of coffee.

January 25, 2014 at 2:32 pm #1782Oh and the affair of the bronze boot dogs.
Why is it that other peoples bags are more exciting than your own?

January 25, 2014 at 4:26 pm #1785macs bags have had a making day today (29 made) Although we didn’t have a specific hand out session, we have received requests for bags and 26 are already on their way to various new homes.

A, intrigued by Redruth and the wet haddock …………Im having haddock fishcakes this evening…
Well done all amazing – hope to join you next time around.
PS Who chose the 25th over Sunday 26th ? A very wise move with the forecast being given !!January 25, 2014 at 6:38 pm #1788Hmmmnnnn, well, I’ll post later about the haddock – I did get some interesting shots, but not THE crucial one. No doubt the whole episode has already appeared on youtube!
We set out for Redruth, well known (as I’m sure you are already aware) as the first town to intall gas lighting in the streets! Forward-thinking or what?
We managed to give away our bags – as M/C has said, a surprising number of people rushed past, refusing all our offers. On the other hand, several came back for more – for carers, for girlfriends, one chap gave two bags to friends when they met up at the bottom of the statue of the miner where they obviously had agreed to meet.
Some of the people we did manage to speak to –
This lady had trouble choosing which bag to have for her veggies –
This young man was too busy finishing his pasty to hold the bag he chose
The bronze wellie-dogs got in on the action, though I notice that one dog has dropped his bag already!
I would have liked to give a morsbag to the miner a bit further up the street to hold aloft, but he was perched too high up on a column for me to give it to him. 🙁
What about the haddock?? You’ll have to go to catch-up for that!
