Hopefully there has been a peak following Blue Planet 2 and the photos on the One Show on 7th Feb.
and I think Sarah will love your pod name as she is a fan of anything french!
Hi Trish
I am Rosie and my pod, Offcuts is in south leicestershire. You might be able to answer something! Were you morsbagging at Fargo Village in Coventry today? My friend and morsbagger sarah Wale has a vintage business and has a stall at Fargo sometimes. She spotted morsbags were there and we were trying to work out which pod it was. So is it you? We said we would come over and sew with you if you were there another time.
Also we shall have a morsbag stall at Kirstie’s Handmade Fair at Ragley Hall in May if you were interested in joining us. We did it last year and it was a great success. Are you on Facebook? Morsbags has several pages on there. Ours is morsbags.com Leicestershire.
Thank you Beattie!
Just wanted to mention Bude Baggers are very near to 10 000!
Exciting!
Well done us!! ;-D
Offcuts new morsbagger Caroline has made another 3 today so the running total is now

Well done Jan! Its fun when pods from all over join in. My pod is in Leicester where the king was found in the carpark! As you can see I guerrilla bagged Richard 111!
I am pretty nocturnal and I shall probably sew morsbags tonight. Hopefully the neighbours won’t complain too much!
Our running total tonight is
A great achievement for the first day. Keep on going if you can!
This lovely morsbag was made this morning by new morsbaggers Caroline. She took kits and labels home with her so looks very promising!

It is for a special lady who works at the Fabric Guild where we meet every week to make morsbags. She is in our thoughts at the moment and yes she loves skulls!

I am meeting a new morsbagger in our area to show her how to make morsbags at my dressmaking class with my friend Julia Claridge from Bobbins and Buttons pod. I shall take some kits along and see how many bags we can make in the morning.
Wow! that sounds an amazing event! One that I would have liked to attend myself! The ‘snowball’ effect is happening in Wimbledon!
Hi Jan, we do not usually have have the co-ordinated giveaways at the same time every year, however we could or another idea is we used to do International Morsbagging Days where morsbaggers from all over the world make morsbags. We have a running total and a final figure worldwide. It gets quite exciting and spurs people on to make morsbags. We could also post on social media which would publicise it further.
So weekend of 18th and 19th November: International Morsbagging Weekend to commemorate our 10th year of morsbags. Howabout it morsbaggers?!
Way to go Dillyshambles and Claire. Enjoy making your bags x
Hi Jan, I run a biggish pod in Leicester (where they found a king buried in a carpark!) Like Beattie and Masterclock I have been going quite a while! Being in a biggish city, I have never had any problems finding venues to meet, store machines, fabric etc. What I tend to do to ‘persuade’ potential venues how good it would be for them to have morsbag events there. I say we have no money coming in but we could possibly make bags for their events etc. I think I have set up about 20 pods in our county and none of them have had to pay for venues. At the moment we meet once a week in a fabric store/warehouse. They were very pleased to have us there, we have a trail of people coming up to see us, we give away about 10 morsbags and 10 kits per week to their customers when we meet on thursdays. Today I found another potential sewer. They have a fabric donation bin for us. We promote them on social media and everyone is happy! I would suggest just talking to everyone about what you are looking for and sooner or later something will come along.
There are quite a few active pods on Facebook. We find it works really well for instant publicity, networking and generating growth. But this website is all of our base and probably the best place for this sort of discussion. Every pod is different and do things in different ways and that is fine. As long as the end result is a sturdy free shopping bag to use instead of a plastic bag that is fine.
