whoohooo we made the list! now i actually have a pod to manage, with a facebook page to look after, i don’t look in the forums on here very often, so i’m glad i saw this one!
I’m glad i finally got round to seeing this post because my pod members much prefer the square ones, and have been asking why my latest order only had the rectangle ones! luckily we had an amazingly generous donation of labels from another pod, including lots of square labels, se we’ll treasure them! haha
hijack away, lol – this thread’s wandering about a bit anyway!
what’s good is that 3 newbies came along yesterday – i like to take a pic of people with the first morsbage they make, the other newbie was chris, the camera shy (tho i did get the top of his head!) demon cutter – he cut out loads of bags and took some duvet covers away to cut at home. the ladies all took sets of 10 bags to make at home – we’re trying to build up the bag stash so we can supply a pop up crafts shop in bude in december – we’re talking about having a fabric drop off point there for morsbags, and me being there sometimes making bags (it’s on for 3 weeks so can’t be there all the time!) – thanks off uts for doing the tech stuff for me again!
good luck offcuts! i’ve got 8 people said they’re coming to my next session, next tuesday, and 3 havent been before, so i’m glad i seem to beveloping a decent sized pool of attendees
thanks joby, glad i didnt break any rules! seemed to make sense to me anyway!
and i’m going to her house tomorrow to collect a load of fabric she’s donating for bagmaking!
and the lady that bought them (delivered to her in a morsbag, of course!) has joined our pod – double yay! lol
and the fabric off cuts have sold, so that’s £8 towards another lot of labels yay!
i hope this is allowed (because i’ve already done it, lol!). we were given a load of fabric offcuts, too small for morsbags, so i’ve advertised them on a local facebook sales page, they’re ideal for patchwork etc. if they sell then the money will go in our labels fund (and the buyer will get them in a free morsbag!)
i was given lots of bits of fabric by a lady who makes stuff to sell, they’re big enough for patchwork etc so i’ll put them on ebay in bag loads – any money made can go in the labels fund
yesterday i went to the big autumn beach clean, organised by surfers against sewage and our local beach clean group – afterwards i handed out 25 bags to volunteers, and spread the morsbags message into the local surfers against sewage folks. even though they’re all young and cool dudes they seemed to love morsbags, to the extent that one of the young lovelies joined my pod later the same day. it’s great to have a stock of bags ready to take to events – i love where i live!
offcuts, it was the idea of a couple of people in the group – what do other pods do? i’m new to pod life (!) so sorry to ask lots of questions
i don’t know how other people organise bagmaking sessions, i said 10 am start time, so both times it went on past lunch because we got into the swing of it and just kept going! hence the need to chuck a pizza in the oven! dunno if other people have a set session time – mine seems a bit more open ended, lol. also, i don’t know if other pods collect money from people for buying labels? i thought about maybe saying everyone puts £1 in the pot – they are saying they want to donate and a couple have already – how do others do this?
it’s exciting to have these questions to consider that i’ve never had to before, as a solitary bagger, lol!
thanks beattie, i like making cake, so i made carrot cake and sticky ginger cake – the pizza came out because those who could stay on thru lunchtime wanted to keep going until we’d made 32 bags, which would get us to 1000 bags! and then we made an extra 4, just for the heck of it, lol!
