Good morning. I was at a cheer competition with Keavie yesterday (she is part of 2 squads (juniors & seniors) and they both got first places and her junior squad won Grand Champions!) so I didn’t get any bags made.
Well done Mac Bags!!!
My friend, Louise, makes her bags in batches so makes loads of handles, then adds all the handles, then adds the labels etc. So she had lots of bags in various stages and FINISHED 40 bags yesterday!!
I’ve got a Sew Sociable meeting this morning and then I will be at my machine!!I’m at a cheerleading competition with Keavie tomorrow but will sew on Sunday and Monday!
Ooooo. This needs some thought. Great prize.
Beattie, Shall I do a new post for the handout and making weekend or would you like to do it? I’m not sure what information needs to be included.
Congratulations on the new grandchild too!!- This reply was modified 8 years, 9 months ago by butterfly bags.
That sounds like a great way to use morsbags.
It was a lovely outing and a great location for morsbags to be associated with. Exciting plans ahead!
Shall we go for the last weekend in Fabruary then? Xx
What about the weekend of 13th and 14th February? Or is that too soon?
Tie it in with Valentine’s Day, spreading the love with morsbags!
(We’ve also got an event in Leicester on the Saturday so will be a good thing to talk about with visitors)
Alternatively we could do it the last weekend of February and make it a 3 day long event because what could be a better thing to do with the extra day of the year than make morsbags!!They are both desperate to make bags today but I’m making them do their homework first!
Fabulous!!!!
I don’t mind when. Does anyone else have a preference?
I think it should be a weekend rather than just a Sunday.Well done Harborough. A very impressive total too.
It’s a nice feeling for us when we have motivated someone else to make bags isn’t it?
I had a nice encounter not so long ago.
I met a lady at the big textiles show when we were both taking part in a crochet workshop. We recognised each other but it took us a few minutes to work out where from. It turned out that I had taught her how to make a Morsbag at an event about 18 months previously. I remembered her really well. She had really shown an interest in morsbags but took quite a bit of gentle encouragement to convince her to sit behind the sewing machine and have a go. She had bad memories of terrible sewing teachers at school and was genuinely nervous of the machine. Anyway, she made a bag and really enjoyed it. It sparked a real interest in sewing for her. Although she hadn’t made anymore morsbags, she had been to other sewing workshops and got interested in various other crafts. It’s was a nice feeling to think that I had given her a gentle push in the right direction that had gone on to be a new hobby for her.
(She did make another bag at the big textile show!)What a great letter. Using a Morsbag is like belonging to a secret club, when you see someone else using one, you can’t help but smile or comment on it.
How lovely that they are now going to make them and spread the Morsbag message even further.Butterfly Bags are going to take a leap up the charts in January.
My lovely friend Louise has been very busy making bags for the past few months and she’s just given me her latest total. She has also got a few ladies at her church making them too. -
