I looked for your bag on flickr, Ladybag, but I can’t see it. What’s your name on Flickr? Or alternatively, have you added it to the morsbags group, or pool or whatever it’s called? I don’t do facebook, so can’t see anything on there.
Ahem, didn’t work for me either π³
Try again – still didn’t work, my attempt came out the same as yours Offcuts, and I selected Medium 500 too. In fact, it seems larger than medium 640 – maybe you automatically get the original size? Might be worth raising a query with Joe.

π !
Hi Cathapple! It’s lovely to hear from you. I know what you mean about spending a lot of time on the beach! It’s a hard decision for me whether to spend time in the garden or in the sea in the summer.

Golly, you’ve both set the bar incredibly high! Follow that? I don’t think I can….. π
OK, maybe I’ll have a go later on – must get the Xmas cards done now as we’re off visiting from next week-end…
Just trying something ….. π
Edited to add, it worked! π

The bag-making instructions have been given a once-over too & now tell you to start with ONE piece of fabric for the bag body with a fold for the bottom of the bag. I like it!And Offcuts said –
I think it is fine to use 2 pieces as well. If you have a particularly nice fabric to eek out by using a plain back or fabric that has a right way up for example. But it is far easier to get the edges to match up if there is a fold at the bottom so that is the way we always teach new baggers. We always encourage people to find their own ways as long as the end result is the sameI totally agree that there is a place for bags made out of two pieces of fabric (i.e. a front and a back) and as well as the cases you suggest, Offcuts, it also allows you to use smaller pieces of material, but there’s no point in cutting the fabric just to sew it up again – and I have known people do just that because they were following the previous instructions slavishly!

I am also glad that the old forum is still available. Hope to come back sewing again and, above all, morsbagging (if I can say so)
Bye!Wow! Hello Tabatuga! π How lovely to hear from you again – nice to hear you may find time to do some morsbagging again. Do you still label all your bags with your own little logo as well (I think I’m remembering correctly that it was you?)

Hello & welcome Anniebag! π I too have had fabric from freecycle and given morsbags to people when I’ve been giving or receiving random stuff via it, not just when getting fabric.
Fabric shops may be less willing to give away fabric as they can sell remnants, but curtain makers often have lots of pieces that have to be cut off to balance patterns or make the curtains the right width to fit the window, so are often willing to donate the leftovers.
Going it alone works out OK for lots of people, or you may gather interested co-podders as you give out bags in your community. People often would like to help once they know about morsbags.

I’m glad it’s still there for reference. I tried to decide what should be kept and what scrapped – and almost none of it merited scrapping IMHO!
That’s nice Offcuts!! Don’t your local WI have a super venue! π Love those yellow walls and golden leaves outside π as well as the crowds of industrious ladies inside, sewing like troupers!! π
