I’m sad I’ve only just seen JC’s post! Welcome from me too, JC. I hope you enjoy handing out your bags on Saturday π As Ivybags says, some photos would be lovely if you can take and post them.
Good luck with your new venture Waley! I hope your shop space is successful – and good luck with the make and take session on Saturday. It’s quite unusual to find old electric sewing machines that are still in working order, I think. So many have given up the ghost! I hope yours continue to soldier on reliably for you and your “makers & takers”
Offcuts, I was just wondering the other day how long it is til you move into “Morsroom II”. Good idea to give away the stock instead of schlepping it up the stairs! π Thanks for sharing the note – poor Sylvia must have had a stressful day! Good luck with the move – I hope it keeps dry and frost-free for you all on The Day.
And I hope we all have a dry day on Saturday with lots of people out on foot in our target areas – or we’ll all be bagging our local pubs like JC! π
January 21, 2014 at 2:22 pm in reply to: 35th International Morsbagging Weekend 18th/19th January? #1708Oh dear, Tintin, I hope you’re better soon and back to all your usual activities. In the meantime, take care of yourself.
Well done to all the other members of Handcross Bag Lady pod for taking up the reins and carrying on as usual. π Do you think they’ll be up for a little handout on this coming Saturday? β
Sazzie, I’m sure we’re ALL yearning for Spring!! How much more rain must we take??
I expect you’re longing to get out in the garden & start planting your veggies. It’s too cold and too early to even start off stuff indoors at the moment though, I think as the little seedlings will get all long and leggy long before you can put them outside. I’ve just been tidying up as I missed it in the autumn. The weeds are growing well though!! π πJanuary 20, 2014 at 10:14 pm in reply to: 35th International Morsbagging Weekend 18th/19th January? #1703BEE-U-TI-FUL bags Sazzie!! π Such lovely colours and fabrics – they’re going to be SOOO popular! π
Great resolution Rudy! Nice to meet you π What else have you decided to do to make your life greener? (apart from using your own fabric bags, and maybe making them, of course)

I came back with an interesting bit of information after looking at who’s been adding bags this weekend π As well as people who have added to our running tally on this thread several pods who don’t chat on the forum have added bags. They are –
Fancypants Pod – a solopoddist in Illinois, US “adding one bag at a time” – and they added one bag on each day of the International Morsbagging Weekend.
Loopychriss is still beavering away and added 5 bags today – Hi Chris!! π *waves*
Fleckney Bees – if I recall correctly this is Sarah P & her mum – they added 51 bags – well done!
O2 added 180 bags – another super haul from that group! Well done Maddie & team πJanuary 19, 2014 at 11:10 pm in reply to: 35th International Morsbagging Weekend 18th/19th January? #1689I made 10 bags in the end this evening
76 + 10 = 86
Jolly good effort everyone! Next weekend we get to give them away π
January 19, 2014 at 8:23 pm in reply to: 35th International Morsbagging Weekend 18th/19th January? #1686Thanks for sorting the numbers out Sazzie! π
I sat down to make some bags, then remembered a phone call I had to make, so my batch of bags is still in the pipeline. Offcuts and Sazzie, your afternoons both sound lovely. I had a dry and sunny but cold session tidying up the garden a bit and I managed to amalgamate the contents of 2 composters to make room for all the weeds I pulled out.January 19, 2014 at 1:49 pm in reply to: 35th International Morsbagging Weekend 18th/19th January? #1674We got caught in a downpour walking to get the newspaper – gardening seems less attractive than sewing for a while! Hope you’re all having a good time. Where’s your event today, Offcuts?
January 19, 2014 at 10:10 am in reply to: 35th International Morsbagging Weekend 18th/19th January? #1671Sunday morning has dawned bright & beautiful, so a walk and then some gardening beckon me, but I WILL sit down and sew some bags later on – I promise! π
January 18, 2014 at 11:20 pm in reply to: 35th International Morsbagging Weekend 18th/19th January? #1669A final 9 from me tonight. Like others I hope to make some bags tomorrow as well – the weather forecast is pretty wet, which makes good bagging weather! π
9+42 = 51 = good score, well done everyone!! π
We would have made it to 52 in total but I found one bag I was sewing had a nasty smell so I’ve put it to be washed. I’ll add it when it’s suitable to hand out, assuming it loses the pong!
