I’ve made what I think is an interesting discovery – the blue bar indicating a topic with new replies only gets cancelled when accessed via “Forum”, “area” and then “topic”. As I short cut I’ve been clicking on the time elapsed since the post, which takes you straight to it, but using that route the blue bar stays. Must stop using the short cut, I guess.
Sounds like a plan. Traceability! π
Edit already exists, Offcuts. It’s in rather faint, small type near the top of the text box on a line with the date and time of the post. I usually try to remember to uncheck the “keep a note of this edit” box when I make changes, but that’s just my taste.
Thank you Joe! π
Thank you so much Joe! I’ve been a bit paranoid since I found I’d missed some posts a while ago.
Golly, that’s dreadful! I’ll make sure we don’t buy exfoliating scrub type products.

I found the website didn’t like my browser, but did manage to check the list of products containing microbeads eventually. It’s terribly long. π

Sounds like a plan! Those 12 trusty machines must take some looking after.
That’s lovely news, thank you Elaine! π Well done, Harborough Hitbag Pod, I’m sure you’ll spend it wisely π
It’s good to hear that other Waitrose stores are hearing about morsbags and want to get involved too.
Krisaby it was actually Tanya who found us at Padstow and siezed the moment to invite us to come to her crafty campsite to sew – so kudos to Tanya! π
Offcuts, the really great thing is that there is/ would be a new audience every time – for a while, anyway, til the campsite is fully booked with previous customers and no newbies can get in……. It does have a special atmosphere and Tanya and Andy work really hard to get everyone’s experience just right. π And there are cakes….. π
Let me know when would suit you, Ivybags, and I’ll see what we can do! Are you busy on Saturday 30th August as that’s when we’re going to the Redwing Gallery in Penzance. I know they’re both a very long way away from you, but ….. π

Usually, reports that include “despite the weather” phrases tell of fighting doggedly on in the teeth of howling gales and pouring rain. However…..
This one is different! Despite the fabulous, sunny weather we had a marvellous turnout, of mostly mums and kids in a nice, fairly even flow.
Our satnav was somewhat unhelpful and deposited us at the gates of RAF St. Mawgan and refused to add any more information. A quick phone call and we were on our way again. With only one diversion we arrived at the secluded campsite with its luxury crafts and tea tent.
Our first customers arrived promptly and had soon rustled up a couple of bags.
Phoebe here was very impressed to be using a sewing machine that is over 100 years old.
She was a super handle-turner and helped Tanya, campsite boss, make her bag later on.
Mmmmm, cupcakes!!!
Some of today’s new bags and their makers
All told, we made 12 bags and had a super afternoon out, with lovely people who had selected a campsite that offered craft opportunities, so, of course many were interested in what we do and why.
We had refreshing tea in fine vintage china cups and ate delicious (and enormous) cakes from matching delicate plates. The piece of yummy lemon and blueberry cake almost proved too big for me to finish (that doesn’t often happen π ) but luckily Himself helped me out with it.
The four hand crank sewing machines we selected to use all performed reliably – I think Masterclock had given them all a going-over and a jolly good talking to before we started, and they proved to be the main attractions, as usual.
There is something special about sitting in a tent on a fine summer’s day, doing simple sewing on fascinating machines that are so easy to operate that a child can do it, having fun and eating cake! π
I hope we may be able to go back for at least one more session before the summer ends. Thank you so much for asking us to come Tanya!! π
I doesn’t look like we’ll need protection from wind, rain or cold today – it’s another lovely sunny day, with just a little cloud predicted, so it may be just Tanya, M/C and me sewing today. We’ll see, I’ll report back later.
I agree, Elaine’s doing a brilliant job! Well done, Elaine!! π
And great spadework by Mary too. Super work, Mary! π
And great sorting out of the details by Offcuts too! Well done,
Off(organisation)cuts!Oh, how sweet! Bo Jangles seems to have made himself at home already! I’m sorry it didn’t work out with the older cat too – sorry she’s not a well kitty, but I’m sure these two will settle in OK. I’m amazed at how similar they are in size in the “dinner time” photo, as Bo Jangles is much younger than Blue Moon.
I’m sure they’ll get used to each other soon. Wonder how they’ll react when Peggy Sue turns up. -
