M/C says it’s likely that the servers where the morsbags website is hosted were being fiddled with earlier, while I could only see some of the photos – at least, I think that’s what he meant….
Ah, she’s a dear little thing!! π So sweet!!
PS I’m glad to see I’m not the only one whose photos aren’t all appearing – Moony & Bo were there earlier but have disappeared.
Now the one that I spotted was missing is back, with 2 others but the rest have gone. I’m leaving – too confusing….. π
And now FIVE of the photos have disappeared, to be replaced by a link! I’ve been robbed!
Thank you Agwen. M/C made the screen a few years ago. It’s handy having something for people who are waiting for friends/ family, or for their turn to have something to look at. I don’t think you can see it, but there’s some string tying the screen to the frame of the tent as it was a gusty day!
I’ve just noticed a funny thing though – two of the photos have disappeared and there’s just a link to them. I’m sure they were displayed when I posted them. If you click on the link you can see the photo, but they’ve gone from here. Most odd! π
I know I’m being demanding, but is there any chance of some more news about how the opening of the Richard 111 visitor centre went? π Pretty please?
π
It went brilliantly, thank you, Ivybags and Sazzie! π
The weather improved and stayed dry all day, unexpectedly. We had a nice steady flow of people sewing, and Keri kept us supplied with cups of tea and a (huge) piece of cake – thank goodness we were sharing it!! π

Patrice here’s Mum wasn’t feeling very well, so Tanya brought Patrice to come and sew with us. She was very sensible and made a good job of her bag. Her dad took some photos too.
We’d brought M/C’s mum’s old Singer for an airing. It hadn’t been used for a while and needed a bit of TLC to sew properly. The trouble proved to be a disagreement between the sewing machine and the thread it had been provided with…. π
I know we’ll be going back to Coastal Valley again, and not just for the tea and cake! π
I’m sure all the planning and organisation will pay off. I hope you all have a super day at the official opening – wishing you lots of happy enthusiastic bag-making!
Good luck
(Let us know how it went when you can) π
Thank you Krisaby and Jenmeister π
Super stall and lovely bags Jenmeister! I remember seeing quite a few pics of your bags with handles ingeniously incorporated into the appliqued designs. Fantastic one-off designs! π
A hand crank is really useful for doing markets and other situations with no power, or where getting it would be a hassle, like fetes, fairs, sewing in parks, and so on. They’re also a talking point – lots of people get snagged by the machine – they remember turning the handle for their gran/mum/aunty and stop to admire them. There’s a bit of an art to turning the conversation onto what we’re sewing and why – I find that’s the difficult bit!
Thanks so much for telling us about the Living Green Festival, Jenmeister! π
Your bags look lovely! And so does the stall the year you were able to have one – I like the co-ordinated table covers and screen behind you. π
Good luck with making the rest of the volunteers bags. Do you think you’ll be able to have a stall this time or are they all spoken for/ you don’t have the time? Looking forward to hearing more! π
So are we! π
I DO like the idea of numbered labels. I was thinking about our old ‘vintage’ sewing machines and how the Singers have more information about them, and in some ways are more interesting because we can look up when and where they were made. Singer’s website gives that information on all their machines as the serial numbers were issued in batches. Cool.
And it will make morsbags like numbered prints – even more collectable than they are now! π
They’re such beautiful kitties! Like little animated teddy bears. π I’m pleased to hear they’re getting on better now, Offcuts. I hope Peggy Sue finds her place with the boys you already have.
