Thank goodness she was prepared to do a swap!! Took me a while to get what KR!!! was = I assume it’s King Richard the Third? Don’t tell me Sue gave her that one to get your sock bag back?
I still love the sock bag – what a great use for all those odd socks π
I like to see who else is making bags too! You don’t feel you’re doing this on your own when you see a list of dozens of pods who are also making morsbags and giving them away wherever they are.
I saw that O2 had a new name – and why not?? π
Good work on finding more new outlets for beautiful shiny morsbags for new recipients!
They’re all really cute Stephanie! π
I like to place the label on a bold diagonal as well – especially when the fabric is striped or checked – it challenges your eyes’ expectations! Or do I mean your brain’s expectations? Anyway, I like them π
Good work giving them away – it’s fun isn’t it? π
I’ve just listened to you all on Radio Leicester – didn’t you get a good length of time. I’m glad that Maddie & Graham (?) got a look in too. You sounded very organised – but I know you’ve had plenty of practice with the media now! π
Well done all of you!
Well done Hilly! That was a difficult start – how unfortunate that your sewing machine had a problem. Still 10/10 for persistence!! I’m sure the next lot of bags will take a lot less time and determination to get done π
And thanks to Mr Hilly for his help too! π
I couldn’t help laughing Tarragon!! I understand just how you feel π At least you’ve got plenty of bags yourself.
I’ve been making bags since 2007 and have made literally thousands, but I still fall in love with the odd one! Only last week I made a bitsa bag (made of bits and pieces) and found it liked it too much to part with it.
I have another bag made out of my sister in law’s old curtains that I love. The fabric is rather fragile (I think the light has attacked the fibres) but I keep on patching it on the inside – couldn’t throw it away – or even give it away. π³
Maybe find some material you like less and it’ll be easier to hand them out to people.
Yay!! Hooray for Butterfly Bags π
Congratulations to Tori, Louise and Amanda – as well as Tori’s caterpillars π
I see a big spike in website hits today – well done, Team Leicester!! π
Been on the radio again Offcuts? Well done!! π
Pretty good result then!! π
I would say, by all means add your own label as well as a morsbags label if you wish. I think pods have done it before (a long time ago, I remember them being in Italy & Japan).
The iron-on ink isn’t completely stable when laundered but would probably last a few washes. I don’t know about you, but I don’t wash bags all THAT frequently. I usually chuck the one I used to carry raw meat in into the washing machine to catch the next wash & that’s it. I guess vegetarians only wash them when they get grubby.
I found this tutorial for making your own labels –
http://www.grumperina.com/labelcontent.htmIf I add in Freda’s 4 hours it changes the allocation a bit.
Now Butterfly Bags and Charnwood each get 10 bags, Fleckney Bees and Offcuts each get 7 bags and Whetstone Whales gets 1 bag.
Well done everyone!! π
That’s complicated Offcuts, as the hours put in vary from 1 hour to 7 hours, with almost every possible time represented!
Looking at Saturday, only 2 pods are represented, so I’ve aggregated the different people from one pod.
Butterfly Bags put in 14 hours between them and Offcuts put in 7.5 hours, so –
Butterfly Bags gets 26 bags and Offcuts gets 14.
Sunday is more difficult as there are more people doing shorter hours.
So I allocate one bag each to Whetstone Whales and Offcuts, 10 bags to Fleckney Bees, 11 to Butterfly Bags and 12 to Charnwood Pod.
Apologies to anyone who feels hard done by, but allocating half a bag to a pod isn’t possible, so far as I know. πGreat work, everyone involved!! π
That’s great Tori!! π Well done everyone.
I’m so glad you had a pleasantly busy day. Maybe we’ll be able to make it next year – and Frank’s chum would be able to catch up then πHave a good rest after a very productive weekend.
Three cheers for Team Leicester!! π
Lovely, thanks for telling us about it Tori π
Sorry we’re busy this year & couldn’t join you. It’s a lovely show. Is it in the same school this year (can’t remember the name of it just now….)I hope you all have another good day tomorrow.
