Thanks for the interest everyone.
It’s back!
With Christmas fast approaching I propose:MORSBAG SEWVEMBER 2019
– let’s each make a morsbag per day throughout November and get loads of morsbags ready for December
Who is up for the challenge this year?
The effort everyone put in for this was very exhilarating
Bravo everyone! It gave a boost to the total for our pod and as of this morning we stand at 998 morsbags made, but will we make it into 4 figures by the end of 2028?
Watch this space …….
Thank you Beattie – and thanks for doing these stats too. Always great to see how we’re doing 🙂
Loving all the new pods (and the old hands too ) – welcome and bravo for all the morsbags being released.
I have a slight confession to make – I’m going the skew the figures for March.
This is because we’ve been busy morsbagging away but I wasn’t able to update our total for a few months (password brain fog). Now I’ve retrieved it our fresh morsbags have been added to the total at last. Yay! But apologies to Beattie in advance.
So it may look as if we’ve just been sitting on our pincushions for months and then sewn up a frenzy in march with our poor machines, but the truth is much more sedate (and also kinder to the sewing machines).
Two Doors Studio pod were delighted to be invited to Stockton Brook Guides to make some Morsbags with them. 25 bags were completed and the guides did themselves proud.
A big well done to them. I hope they start their own pod but even if they don’t they will still be morsbagging as they spread the message by using their bags and gently reminding whoever they’re shopping with to take their reusable bags with them.Hope you had a great time at the ball Sazzie.
The Indie pop festival goers were a very lovely bunch. The hand crank Singers were a real hit and lots of lovely morsbags were made.
There a couple of issues with morsbagging at music festivals though.
i) You have to get really good at explaining how to make a morsbag just using (polite) gestures or get a very hoarse voice.
ii) You have to stop yourself from hand cranking in time with the music – its fine for a ballad but can get a bit speedy on a faster numberIt was a lovely day, and a good day for whales too 🙂
Haha thanks Beattie for the clips – how have I not seen that Tim Minchin video before? Very funny – but I must admit towards the end I was wondering how many morsbags I could make from that billowy white shirt (nothing is safe when you’re a morsbagger!).
I shall try to get some pics too.
TC for Salt Line Studios
Correctly spotted Beattie 🙂
This is Tracy speaking on behalf of Salt Line Studio pod.I have my own solopod but I like to help groups set up their own pods too. In this case the Salt Line Studio pod will have several regular members and hopefully posters to the forum. They wanted their own pod so they could see the tally of morsbags made at Salt Line Studio.
Thanks for the tip about storing the tshirt (for a moment there I thought you had implied there might be a morsbag hat available in the shop…..then I engaged my brain ….doh! )
Happy Italian travels x
Well it was a filthy night! In terms of the weather, I felt somewhat like a sea creature myself as I loaded and unloaded the car. Ooh but it did rain!
Several intrepid souls did venture forth into the cosy workroom at Salt Line Studio – thank you thank you thank you brave souls.
Morsbags were made, cake was are, and there was enough interest to make plans for having a regular morsbag workshop – yay!
There was a first outing for my new morsbags bunting (totally borrowed this idea from another morsbagger – genius whoever you are!), and I wore my morsbag tshirt for the first time. (I have to say the cotton in the tshirt feels really lovely quality, it’s a pleasure to wear).
So I’m very pleased to announce that a brand new pod is born – “Salt Line Studio pod”.
Meetings will be approximately one every 2 months, the first one is likely to be in January 2015.
The venue will be Salt line studio, Alsager, 100 Crewe Road, ST7 2JACheck here for details:
