No worries Sazzie I think it is something wrong with the set up. Rosie -how did you manage to do your avatar?
I’ll post a video guide to show to how to tomorrow morning…
Ok – ive edited this as it seems Flickr have changed their ways again. Luckily I just found an option in the site to let the site do all the hard work.
When in Flickr you can just grab the url at the top of your browser in the address bar and then paste directly into where you are typing – do not use the img button above!December 3, 2013 at 9:42 pm in reply to: My user profile is my old pod site pod name – can I change it? #1033Re changing your username please see this thread: https://morsbags.com/forums/topic/i-dont-like-my-username-can-i-change-it/
December 3, 2013 at 2:55 pm in reply to: My user profile is my old pod site pod name – can I change it? #1007Yes the coding fairies visited this morning and sprinkled some magic coding dust in the top right of the site – it now works for iOS devices.
Also worth noting that the pod page will now work – although the map will not display. Long story but in short – the map crashes apple iOS browsers, something to do with Apple not liking how Google map pins use a lot of memory, Apple are not in a rush to fix this for what is essentially a rivals companies map solution I am afraid. All other mobile devices should work though. We are looking into a fix for this, most likely using a different solution. So if you are on iOS and want to browse the actual map you will need to use a desktop computer for now. all other parts like browsing the list, searching and onward buttons like ‘Create a pod’ are functional now though.Hi Sazzie, if you mean to place on the forum then it is the same as usual – you upload them to flickr and then get the url of the picture by selecting the ‘share’ icon on the image in flickr and then clicking the ‘link’ icon to get the URL of the picture (this is the same as the old forum)
Then here in the forum simply click the ‘ing’ button above the place you are typing and paste the url into the dialogue box that appears – job done – no need for silly tags etc like the old forum- This reply was modified 10 years, 11 months ago by Joby.
December 3, 2013 at 12:26 pm in reply to: My user profile is my old pod site pod name – can I change it? #997It’s in the process of being fixed for iPads – bad timing! Should be better soon if not already…
Hello all, it seems the option is already here but there may be an issue where you as a user (non admin) can not get to the option.
Please can you all try this…
1) Log in
2) Hover over your yellow username in the top right and select ‘My Profile’
3) Go to ‘Edit Forum Profile’ a blue link a little way down (this will become more of an obvious button)
4) Scroll down all the way to the bottom – you should see your Avatar settings and a button to ‘Upload’Let us know how it goes, if you click ‘Edit Forum Profile’ and you get an ‘oops’ error page then let us know!
Good luck…

‘Resources’ download links now fixed, was a gremlin.
Hope they work and you enjoy using them.No you are not missing it, I am afraid there is no facility as yet.
It is not something that has been integrated yet, we wanted to look at all the options first.
It was a fine balance of delay the site further (on a very tight budget as well) or get it out and see what is demanded!thanks for letting us know, will look into this…
Good question Offcuts! You managed to creep in to the new site so early we haven’t had a chance to start filling some parts including this thread!
There is currently only one way as another solution is in the works, it needs testing.
The easiest way is to get a ‘Gravatar’! Gravatar is a service that means once you create an account and upload an avatar to http://gravatar.com then many thousands of sites that check Gravatar will get your avatar automagically – no need to keep uploading at differ sites, and one change should change everywhere. That’s what we use at the moment, we vouch for Gravatar and you don’t have to enter too much personal info, to get a basic avatar working across the web.
The other solution will come soon and will let you know about it here.
We are currently creating a welcome page for podders old and new to take them through the whole new user/pods/forum set up and will soon have a FAQ, as soon as we have some FAQ (this one will go on there!)- This reply was modified 10 years, 11 months ago by Joby.
