Thank you, Krisaby, but the exoticism is down to the lovely fabrics. I look forward to sewing them π
Thanks Ivybags! Patches of super fabrics do such a lot to “lift” plain bags π
Ooh, thank you Offcuts!I’m looking forward to trying them out.
I did make the little bag – the girl in the cafe put your necklace in a horrid manilla envelope that it fell out of all the time, so I used a scrap from one of the samples books to make it.
I didn’t try heat, but I don’t think the fabrics would take well to it – I think there’s a lot of polyester in them there samples! π
I thought I would, Tori, especially if people are interested. I thought that though not many post on the forum, it’s encouraging to see that pods across the world are steadily adding bags to our tally. π
I’d like to list new pods too, but when P and or J authorise them they disappear into the general list, and it seems impossible to find them again.
Are Cathapple and co’s chain all bottle tops or do they include other “beach plastics” as well? That’s some collection!!
I found Porthtowan Beach Cafe has a website –
http://www.porthtowanbeachcafe.com/Doesn’t it look gorgeous!! It’s marvellous what a bit of sun will do π I like your summerhouse/ shed!
Thanks Cathapple and Offcuts! I like the way the bags are displayed on coat hangers – makes finding one the baggee likes nice and easy!!
And the beach huts (?) with a lineful of colourful bags is a super photo – very summery π
I’m glad you both saw it – I find sometimes new posts languish a bit as they don’t show up in the “Recent Replies” list near the top of the page.
It would be nice if you could add a bit on the forum from time to time to keep us up to date with your new pod and its success, Cathapple. As I don’t “do” facebook, I can’t see your pod’s page on there.
I agree, Agwen, it’s a great month’s output! π
Those bags sound fab, Tori!! I’m sure the winners and runners-up will be thrilled with their bags π
I don’t often look at the pod table, but it’s nice when you pass someone, isn’t it!! π I made 5 bags today, one of them a “bitsa”, plus some more bitsa kits. I’d been accumulating pieces that weren’t big enough, so sewed them together to make bag shapes.
I’m laughing out loud at Krisaby’s suggestion re the cat!! π
Yay, join in Tori!! π 31 bags by the end of January would be bang on target.
As you say, there will be times when I won’t be able to sew either, but I’m allowing for that by making more to get ahead. I’ve made 114 bags so far this month (varies from 2 on one day to 14 on another day when it was raining and I didn’t have anything else begging for my attention).
Making just one morsbag takes very little time, as you say, makes a nice little warm-up, and a good test to check the machine is working well.
Which is occupying about 85% of the kitchen table…..
*sigh*Don’t the finished bags look lovely! π Super fabrics – I remember some of them as well.
I seem to be working my way through a sea of beige and brown at the mo – with a bit of dark red thrown in. Decided to make up whatever material I hauled out from under the spare bed – no more putting the duller stuff away. Slapping on a bit of applique makes the plain bags more attractive though.
I’m impressed that she still had your email address after all that time. π I’m so pleased she made up the kits and is giving them away. Perhaps she made a New Years Resolution like Cushion Lady’s – to finish unfinished projects.
