It was some time ago Pol, I don’t know that they’re still doing the beach art project. I have collected milk bottle tops for a few years as Caroline (the lady whose letter I posted about a few days ago) knows someone who collects for a charity. Now our local council is running a trial collecting a lot more plastic items than they used to and we can put milk bottle tops in for recycling.
Google turned up these –

What a great handle!Butterfly, that’s wonderful!! π
I’m about to go and add them to my running list of new pods, welcome Tatty and Dacey π
Appointing a weekend gives more flexibility Butterfly. I’m happy with that, though the thought of people all over the world sewing at the same time did have its attraction.
Congratulations to all members of Offcuts pod. That’s quite an achievement π
Thanks for drawing the new Pod of the Fortnight to my attention Offcuts. I have the morsbags forum bookmarked so very seldom look at the home page. It was very interesting to read about Harborough Hit Bags. I know they appear on the “pods who made bags last month” list every time I do the monthly stats. The photos were interesting and I liked the big banners. Now I’m suffering from banner envy! π
The photos with the group in the gazebo brought back memories of similar events I’ve been to – and the sewing table on the vintage railway platform made me smile too.
I also discovered that I’d completely missed the interesting information and photos from Wir in Arnsberg pod. What a coincidence that both these pods like making morsbags from men’s shirts π Wir In Arnsberg pod have a drop-in centre where people can come with their sewing problems – what a wonderful resource!
I’d be happy to join in if possible if we revive them. I agree it was encouraging to think of people sewing morsbags on the same day and posting along during the day. When do you want to pick, Butterfly?
What a great story Butterfly! π It’s lovely when making a lovely, simple, useful morsbag rehabilitates someone who’s been put off sewing and other crafts by a bad experience. There must have been some dreadful sewing teachers around.
I was really touched when Caroline asked me to post the letter on here for her. I hope she and her pod carry on the good work too! π
I like the bit about the other lady having a bag from us too! π
Thank you Offcuts! π
Oooh Butterfly! I’m agog!! π
Thank you Agwen and Scallywagbags! More monthly updates will be forthcoming.:D
Thank you for encouraging the stats reports Butterfly! I’ll continue to produce them.
Also, thanks for asking how many bags I made. As I think you will remember I set myself the challenge to make at least one bag a day during the year, except when we were away on holiday. I didn’t quite manage that, got too busy to keep it up later in the year and took most of October off, ditto December, and there were days when I was too tired or felt unwell. When we did events I didn’t count bags made by other people who were supervised by me, and Masterclock made some bags that were added to the global tally, but not to my own spreadsheet.
So, in 2015 I made at least one bag on 242 days and the total made came to 765. π
PS
Do you find the regular reports interesting? Would you like me to continue in 2016?About two months after the plastic bag charge came in, Tesco reckons that the use of disposable plastic bags has declined by 80%.

At long last, indeed! Now for the smaller shops…..
