About this pod
It's just me. So far I have just made bags for family and friends: I have been neither industrious nor brave enough to be able to hand them out to random strangers! I have made bags out of off cuts of fabric, old curtains, old clothes (including jeans, which was difficult!) and pillowcases. I started off using an old table top Singer sewing machine, but when I began doing more dressmaking I invested in a basic Janome electric model. The bags all hold up well to carrying heavy shopping (cans etc) home from the shops. My personal favourite is made from a piece of vintage barkcloth with zany 1960s orange flowers. Due to frequent use and washing the fabric has faded and gone floppy, but I still love the fact that no-one else has a bag like it.
