About this pod
You may have noticed that our number of bags are going up rapidly. That is because we are supporting a group in Halesworth Suffolk, set up during the pandemic by one of our former members. They are now very active and so may carry on independently soon. We will let you know. We meet on the third Monday of every month. Our meetings are at the Catholic Church Hall in Market Harborough from 1pm to 3pm. We are busy supplying bags to local independent businesses, charities and Food Banks. We have stalls at local events where we give out bags and help spread the Morsbag message.
Come and join our friendly group, and help us make Morsbags! We have made over 40,000 bags. We are an amazing group numbering about 20 now.
We have members who collect fabric for us, others that cut bags, more that sew, some who love to label and others who give the bags away.
'Pressing Appointments" on Coventry Road in Market Harborough is one of the local businesses that have supported us over the years We usually have a window display all about Morsbags. The Village on St. Mary's Road has our bags and collects fabric donations for us. Fabric donations can also be dropped off at the Council Offices in Symingtons Building on Adam and Eve Street or Craft-i- Trims in the Indoor market. Or you can contact us via Morsbags.com or our Facebook page and we can arrange local collections.
One of our former members Serena now lives in Suffolk and has set up a podlet in Halesworth. There now about 6 members sewing and adding even more bags to our total but more importantly stopping lovely fabric going into landfill.
Follow our adventures on Facebook... https://www.facebook.com/HarboroughMorsbags/ We try to post regularly with Morsbag information and other plastic reduction initiatives.
We started in 2008 as "Harborough HIT Bags Morsbags Pod" and in 2019 we renamed ourselves as Harborough Morsbags.
