Today was day 1 of The Big Textile Show in Leicester. We are doing things on a slightly smaller scale than the previous 2 years.
We had 6 machines on the go pretty much all day (we did take a short break for lunch!) and made a grand total of 40 bags.
As usual, we met some lovely people and all had time for a quick look around the show.
We are back there again tomorrow!September 26, 2015 at 11:46 pm #4889Lovely, thanks for telling us about it Tori 😀
Sorry we’re busy this year & couldn’t join you. It’s a lovely show. Is it in the same school this year (can’t remember the name of it just now….)I hope you all have another good day tomorrow.
September 26, 2015 at 11:58 pm #4890Yes Beattie, same school – Leicester Grammar. Tori and her friend Louise played a blinder, admirably aided by Mary Scissorhands and Harriet on the info desk. It was fun and relaxed, wonder clips were popular again! Brothers still in good form MC! 😉
September 27, 2015 at 6:45 pm #4892We had another good day today with 35 bags being made.
We had 1 man who was disappointed not to see Frank this year!It is a great show and we’ve met lots of lovely people over the weekend.
I think me & Rosie both need a good rest tonight though.
XxSeptember 27, 2015 at 8:28 pm #4893That’s great Tori!! 😀 Well done everyone.
I’m so glad you had a pleasantly busy day. Maybe we’ll be able to make it next year – and Frank’s chum would be able to catch up then 😉Have a good rest after a very productive weekend.
Three cheers for Team Leicester!! 😀

September 28, 2015 at 9:48 am #4896That’s complicated Offcuts, as the hours put in vary from 1 hour to 7 hours, with almost every possible time represented!
Looking at Saturday, only 2 pods are represented, so I’ve aggregated the different people from one pod.
Butterfly Bags put in 14 hours between them and Offcuts put in 7.5 hours, so –
Butterfly Bags gets 26 bags and Offcuts gets 14.
Sunday is more difficult as there are more people doing shorter hours.
So I allocate one bag each to Whetstone Whales and Offcuts, 10 bags to Fleckney Bees, 11 to Butterfly Bags and 12 to Charnwood Pod.
Apologies to anyone who feels hard done by, but allocating half a bag to a pod isn’t possible, so far as I know. 😕Great work, everyone involved!! 😀
September 28, 2015 at 10:11 am #4898Congratulations on a successful event. Enjoy your rest today.
September 28, 2015 at 7:20 pm #4899Ok, thank you so much! I forgot that Freda did 4 hours for Offcuts. I’ll ask Butterfly to come over and see what she thinks. xx
Agwen, thank you but next I have to prepare for even bigger event on saturday in Leicester city centre. Giving away 500 bags!! :-0
September 28, 2015 at 8:20 pm #4900If I add in Freda’s 4 hours it changes the allocation a bit.
Now Butterfly Bags and Charnwood each get 10 bags, Fleckney Bees and Offcuts each get 7 bags and Whetstone Whales gets 1 bag.
Well done everyone!! 😀
September 28, 2015 at 9:15 pm #4901Whetstone Whales did a great job packing up when we were all tired and she missed out on the free ice cream, Tori did a bit of moonlighting for Sew Sociable so maybe transfer a couple from Butterfly Bags To WW.
Beattie your figures are pretty impressive! Thank you!
