I am really enjoying the BBC programme Sewing Bee. I have taken to watching it twice as I never get the chance to watch without interruption. I sit making bags with the iPad propped up on the table in front of me and take inspiration from the amazing efforts of the people in the show. I remember trying to make bags with stretchy fabric and getting very frustrated so was pleased to see that it really is hard to work with! I gave up on it as it took too much time per bag to be worth the fuss and bother. Isn’t it good they are asking for people to come forward for the next challenge? It means there will be another series.
March 8, 2014 at 8:41 pm #2135Yes I agree it is great. I like the way they have a theme each week, the relevant trips and the music Did you see on fb that the lady from Bobbins and Buttons pod in Leicester is forming a sewing social group called Sew Sociable (name thought of by Butterfly) She has been in contact with Tamara who is going to come and talk to us and set us a challenge and judge it the next month. I have a feeling we shall be bagging her! We are also giving out morsbag kits at some point. Butterfly, Waley and I are very excited! 🙂
March 10, 2014 at 1:49 pm #2139I did see the bit about Sew Sociable – well done Butterfly, good name – but didn’t pick up on the bit about Tamara. How good is that? Brilliant. Look forward to hearing what the challenge is that she sets you and to how you all get on.

March 12, 2014 at 8:08 pm #2154*SPOILERS* Don’t read if you haven’t watched this weeks!!
I loved this weeks episode. The children’s fancy dress challenge was fab. I was glad David won a challenge but I think his days are numbered.
I love the fact that there is no clear winner yet. Although I would like Tamara or Lynda to win.March 16, 2014 at 2:32 pm #2175I went into a panic when I couldn’t get the last episode to come up on my iPad! I got it in the end but not until I had thrown myself about in a very nasty mood. I thought the ideas for the children’s fancy dress were clever. I was glad David won a challenge too. It is interesting that someone can have a stunning success with one challenge but then turn out a disaster on the next. Those dungarees were good!
March 24, 2014 at 9:28 am #2238I have been having the grumps because I cannot get my iPad to cope with BBC at the moment but managed to get it eventually on the laptop. I have only just caught up with the anorak and trousers episode. Lynda, it turns out, was not at all well while they were filming that one. Has everyone found Lynda’s daughter’s blog? if not try this link http://www.craftsfromthecwtch.co.uk/
