I go for a walk with friends on Monday mornings, unless it’s piddling down with rain, and we spend a good while over a cup of coffee at Porthtowan Beach Cafe.

This week my eye was caught by a display of colourful necklaces and an eyecatching explanation.

The necklaces are made out of pieces of plastic picked off the beach and the sign suggests that if you go onto the beach you should remove a piece of litter when you leave, and maybe make something pretty out of it. Great suggestion!!

Are Cathapple and co’s chain all bottle tops or do they include other “beach plastics” as well? That’s some collection!!

Good question! I’ll ask her to answer that on!

So glad you put up Cathapple and Co’s necklace Offcuts. It is such a good idea and I have been watching the progress on fb. She is quite a goer is Cathapple and managed to entice people to a general bottle-top wash and hole drilling session. Then they threaded their tops collection on string to be joined to the huge chain. Watching their progress made riveting reading. All this and there is the added pleasure of seeing what the dogs are getting up to!
Which reminds me – if you are reading this Offcuts – time for some more pictures of Bo Jangles and his entourage I think. It would be grand if you can find the time. Please.
