P.s. already made 26 bags to give outApril 8, 2022 at 10:39 am #64212Thats fantastic Children love to learn how to use a sewing machine – my old Singer hand crank is ideal when no electric supply
We always made up kits beforehand then you can just “plug and Go” The children can choose their kit, and it saves much time cutting out, and ironing the handles
look forward to some pics on our Facebook page if you are able to take some
Have you got plenty of labels ? Im sending them out within a day or two of receipt of orders.Anne
AdminApril 9, 2022 at 4:34 pm #64246That’s fantastic Lindyloo! Preparation will make it all go with a swing. 😀
April 11, 2022 at 7:21 pm #64311Thanks chums, Anne got plenty of labels as when I last ordered some I ordered 300, lol sadly I’m the only one making the bags as they other pod can’t help at the mo, & as for fb page I have real problems posting on there as I could t see where to post ? Do I click on posts ? Then add pictures ??

April 12, 2022 at 7:49 am #64319Hi Lindy
Look for the Facebook page Morsbags Sociable Guerrilla Bagging, then click on Posts along the top bar. You should see Share Photos thereMay 11, 2022 at 12:16 am #65305I’m still making morsbags 128 so far in total ,there’s only me I’m trying to make 200 bags but it’s taking time as I need to cut out , sew handles then sew up+ 40 hr working week … but so far so good wish me luck
May 12, 2022 at 5:32 pm #65361Well done for 128. It does take time. I try to sew long lengths of handle if I have a big piece of fabric then I can just cut it to length as I go. When I was working I used to cut out in the early morning before I went to work, and I would iron the tops down, then I just had to sew in the handles and side seams in another session
How on earth the contestants on Sewing Bee make whole garments in 4 or five hours is beyond me !!!May 13, 2022 at 7:52 pm #65393Good luck Lindy Loo! When is the school fayre where you’re giving away morsbags?
I’m sure they will be popular and start the wished-for conversation 😀128 morsbags is great going, and there’s no deadline to reach the target you’re aiming for – it’s all good!
May 21, 2022 at 2:28 pm #65536Well coming to You live from The school hall
165 morsbags given out today
Made all by me, I’ve pulled all nighters, finished sewing at 4:30am this morning , I’ve done early mornings
Late nights, between my shiftsAll info on my pod in each bag, bags made from the caravan curtains, duvet sets, pillow cases, bridesmaids dresses ,Kathleen’s skirt, trousers
Everyone was amazed by them all, made with recycled thread .. the only “complaint” was they wanted longer handles to go over their shoulders
May 21, 2022 at 6:32 pm #65543Fantastic, Lindy Loo!
What a great job – and all your own handiwork too 😀
It’s lovely seeing unwanted fabrics repurposed and made useful again. Well done.
May 21, 2022 at 9:22 pm #65547People were amazed that I was giving away free, some people tried to give me a token to get a tea or ice cream others offered money even though I said about 100 times they were for free … took me 2.5 hours to give out 165 bags …
I’ve now been asked to go into the school
& make morsbags with a class of 30 children!!!! EeekMay 22, 2022 at 11:41 am #65559I’ve posted about yesterdays PTA stall & giving away the 165 morsbags in all of the 6 sewing sites I’m in on fb & I’ve been met with such generosity that I’m filled up with glorious ness … I’ve been posting about this site as well hoping to bring lots of people here … I’ve got to thinking maybe I could make lots more & hand out the bags at the local car boot ? Maybe do a Christmas/Halloween fair to have out bags … whoop whoop skys the limit
May 23, 2022 at 8:44 pm #65846Guess what??? I’ve only found another 54 morsbags in the shed I made to take to the pts summer fair last Saturday 🤦🏼♀️ Totally didn’t know they were in there, my total would of been 210 bags made for the stall !!!
May 24, 2022 at 7:58 pm #66021Well you’re off to a flying start for your next handout Lindy Loo 😀
My reaction to a class of 30 or so primary school children to sew morsbags with is the same as yours – EEK!!
