“I have made a pledge to myself to give as any morsbags out with / in addition to / or as Christmas gifts this year…. I always leave it too late…. Whose joining me….. I know it’s still September but there are only 15 weekends until Christmas…. 😉 “
We had an enormous shiny gold curtain that I’ve been turning into gift bags. I tied the handles shut with ribbons to stop idle peeping and give the recipients something to do to replace the “ripping-the-paper-off” experience.
I took some photos this morning –
I’m also (re)using some cheery paper gift bags that I rescued from a party I went to a week or two ago 😀
I made some fabric ties with people’s names on and made some discoveries –
1) I should have made the tie-up bits longer
2) I should have used brighter thread – red would have been good, if I’d had any here
3) Embroidering people’s names is very time consuming. I made some later ones and just wrote the names on with a felt tip.
Fantastic Beattie, my Christmas competition bags went to Evie’s nursery teachers, and I’ve pledged to make them more non – Christmassy ones in the new year.
Thanks! The curtain has been sitting in the fabric cupboard for ages! It’s a bit thick and garish for ordinary bags, but came into its own this Christmas 😀
