It took my neighbour Jim (used to be called ‘Jim’ll fix it’) 6 hours to put this together not helped by the english instructions that just said ‘start at number 1 and stop when finished!)

What a marvellous contraption! I have no doubt that Blue Moon will find a good use for the black furry things. I think they will be for a bit of killing!
The idea is it will help to prevent this which is the Persian’s work of art!

It doesn’t look particularly lopsided in the photo. Not enough to worry about certainly. Do you know? I don’t think that kitten is going to worry anyway as it looks like it will be a whole lot of fun and will keep you all amused for hours and hours.
That’s an amazing construction Offcuts!! I’m sure Blue Moon will love it, once he’s big enough to clamber round it 🙂 I think the black dangly things are “instant prey”. You may have to make replacement ones from time to time if he gets proficient at shredding them! 😀

His current human mum and dad have one of these and apparently Blue Moon can already get to the top! We visited them all on saturday and chose kitten number 2. Another boy. He is a lilac shorthair. Lilac is a sort of a diffused blue mixed with cream. In this photo L-R lilac – cream – blue
😀 You’ve got at least one feline athlete coming to live with you, Offcuts! It’s not long now til Blue Moon arrives, is it? How old is your latest kitten now? Have you chosen a name for him? I can’t think of many “lilac” phrases! (“We’ll gather lilacs in the spring again”, “Lilac Time”….)
We pick him up a week on saturday, kitten 2 on aug 2nd (lilac boys are 2 weeks old now and will post a pic when they look a bit more kitten!) There is also a possibility of a 5 year old blue/cream. Unfortunately she has been unable to have any kittens so Kimcatz will be retiring her. Sometimes very special people (like us!) have the chance to rehome retired cats. I think I shall need her help to keep these kittens in order!We don’t have a name for kitten 2 yet but would quite like to keep on the song theme. Any ideas would be gratefully received! Our favourite so far is Mr Bo Jangles ‘Bo’

Lots of things to be excited about there! 😀 The adult cat sounds beautiful and could be just the help you might need to keep the kittens in line. If she’s the one I think she is, she’s already in the “song title” theme! 😉
Oh how marvellous! What a time you are in for. Does the older cat have dealings with the kittens? I just wondered what the social arrangements are. I am hoping that despite not being a mum herself she has helped with the bringing-up of other kittens, otherwise being in charge of two kittens all of a sudden could be something of a shock. Blue Moon already sounds quite a character. Looking forward to seeing pics of Lilac. If you have time would you be able to put a Blue Moon pic on facebook so I can make my friend Anne dribble?
Kitten 2 will be one of these boys. They are lilac British Shorthairs. We have already chosen a name – Bo Jangles (sticking with the song title names) They are 2 weeks old and conveniently we share a birthday. Pet name will be Bo and/or Jan. Its all very exciting!
