i don’t know if this is the right place to ask this – i am re-launching my pod under a new name. cathapple has become Bude Baggers, as i’ve moved from disinterested rural north devon to Bude, and a few people have expressed an interest in making bags. i’d like to put some posters up around Bude, to hopefully get more potential bag makers to contact me. do you have a basic text anywhere that i could use as a starting point? i know there are blank pages with the logo, but i’m having a brain fart (!) and can’t get anything decent composed!

Hi Cathapple! I guess we’ve all made our own versions of posters. 😀 I thought I had some (nothing spectacular, but they might have helped unblock your creativity) but I can’t find them & think they must be on my old computer.

I guess you need to hold an inaugral meeting or a workshop to see who’s interested. Do you have a venue or will it be someone’s house? You need to tell people “what, where, when, why”

I remember I used to use a “sea life” font like this one
    http://www.fontspace.com/sassy-graphics/sealife
    or this
    http://www.fonts.com/font/ultimate-symbol/usf-sealife/regular
to make a top and bottom border for the information in the middle of the poster.

Masterclock says that fonts sometimes contain viruses, so proceed with caution. I have no information on whether these or any other fonts are “clean”.

I searched the old morsbags forum (now read-only) for some examples and found these –
    https://morsbags.com/forum-archive/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2873&p=39695&hilit=poster#p39695
    https://morsbags.com/forum-archive/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2755&p=38079&hilit=poster#p38079
    https://morsbags.com/forum-archive/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3005&p=40928&hilit=posters#p40928

which may at least give you some ideas.

“Keep it simple” works I reckon!

I hope you’ve settled into your new community – sounds like you’ve been making friends and other contacts.

I’ll have a look in some old folders and see if I can find any actual old posters and photograph them.

Here I am, back again, but empty-handed, sorry. I obviously didn’t keep any old posters when we moved house a few years ago.

I have discovered that it’s possible to copy some of the images on the website – the one at the top of the main page (fabric+scissors+sewing machine+morsbags label= morsbag) could be effective used on a poster. Perhaps you could use both, as I’ve just discovered that the turtle, jellyfish, plastic bag photo can be copied too – they sum up what morsbags is all about. You could paste both on your posters as borders, with the info in the middle.

If you go to “Resources” ( https://morsbags.com/resources/ ) and scroll down there is a blank poster you can download. It has an image of one of the new morsbags labels in the top left corner and the rest is available for you to fill in as you wish.

Hope this helps! Let us know how you get on 😀

Cathapple, we find Facebook is very good for publicity and networking and I found this page which looks very active and up to date

I love the turtle/jellyfish/plastic bag images on the home page too
