I would just like to congratulate our lovely Butterfly for becoming our brand new Pod of the Month. She and I have been morsbagging together for the last 6 or so years and we have been good friends for that time. Tori has always been invaluable at the morsroom and at events we have done over the years; she drives us places, makes beautiful cakes, picks up from fabric drop-offs, smiles and jokes with the punters whilst always getting the message across; but most of all is fun to be with. Tori has recently sorted out our fabric supplies into sizes, bits for schools, retro for Waley, and copious amounts for Offcuts2. It was a massive job to undertake but she did it!

My favourite Tori story is when we were doing a jubilee event. Normally I am pretty good at estimating how many morsbags we need at an event and for a special edition it is normally 100. However at this event EVERYTHING was free which led to about 2000 people swamping the park! The jubilee bags went very quickly so I decided to go home and pick up some more with Mary scissorhands driving me. It was only 5 mins away. When we returned with our arms full of new supplies we saw Tori surrounded by about 200 people waiting for bags! I think they probably would have turned nasty if we hadn’t brought them bags. It was very funny, the moral of the story don’t do events where everything is free!

Tori love yer and couldn’t do it without yer!

Calm before the storm. Tori with Finny and Keavie and Mary Scissorhands

What a great interview! Congratulations, Tori of Butterfly Bags – it was so interesting to read all about you and your pod! 😀

Thanks to Offcuts as well for pointing out the new featured pod, as well as the supplementary story, extra photos and background information 😀

Lovely, I’ve met Tori quite a few times now and can only echo what has already been said by Offcuts. She is a wonderful person to be around, very patient when teaching people to sew and gets the morsbag message across in a lovely calm enthusiastic manner – she also makes rather delicious cakes!
Well done Tori and all members of Butterfly bags x 🙂

Offcuts the picture of the scramble for bags reminded me of the handout we did at The Bullring in Birmingham :-0

Thank you for your kind words ladies! I really enjoy the whole morsbagging thing. Over the years, sometimes it has had to take a back seat but it always calls me back! Thanks to my trusted morsbag book, I can tell you that I made my first bag on 29th January 2008 (it was beige with orange and brown flowers and I’ve still got it! And Rosie, I came to an event at Brocks Hill on 9th Feb 2008 which I guess is where we first met!)
I have met some lovely people, made some wonderful friends and been to some brilliant events. The jubilee one was crazy!!! Lol.
    Big Morsbag love to everyone!!
