Prepare yourself for some very long lists! June 2019 has been amazing, especially as we lost some stats from 1st June, and I’m closing the book a day early as I’ll be away from “Internet-land”.

So, how did we do? There are a lot of new pods springing into action, many climate action groups and patchwork or quilting clubs have received the message and got busy. And a lot of pods appear on the active list every month, consistently. Whales, turtles, seabirds, fish, all marine life would thank you if they knew.

Number of morsbags made in the month = 4632 (at 22.45 BST on 29/6)

147 active pods added morsbags to the tally

    Interesting comments

    Meandmycat writes –
“First bag made with me and my cat Beatrice, who was very interested, 2 sessions planned with friends, both new to sewing :)”

    HSNF Christmas Project 2020
“Planning to make 100 Morsbags for Heathrow Special Needs Farm users for Christmas 2020.”

Fortunately for us all, stalwart morsbagger Ivybags has agreed to keep an eye on the figures for me for a little while.
    Back soon! *waves*

Our statistitian extrordinaire, Beattie has only been away for one week, and we have already added 1026 Morsbags to the total tally
So far, 11 Pods have joined this month, and have more interesting tales to tell
We have also been very busy sending out hundreds of labels
And great news in my area – Plymouth is now working very hard to become a plastic free city…Plymouth City Council has already begun…..a long way to go, but every little helps
Surfers against Sewage have been making massive strides to win the war on waste dumped into our seas.
And South Devon Shell Fishermen have been collecting plastics, old floating nets, etc each time they go to sea, bringing it back to recycle, and raise awareness of the hazards to our beautiful sea life.

Beattie has now returned, and Ive handed back the reigns, with a massive tally of 4738 Morsbags and 27 new pods registered already in July.
Watch out for the grand total at the end of the month

Poor Beattie has succumbed to the dreaded rotten Summer cold, and is a little “under the weather” even though its beautiful down here in the South West, so Ivybags will continue the count until she feels up to taking back the reigns.

Watch out for a mahoosive July count…….

Thank you so much for taking charge, Ivybags! I caught a cold at the end of our holiday (lucky it wasn’t at the start!) and have been a bit “feak and weeble” as we say.

Our weather seems to have been less tropical than in other parts of the UK and Europe as we’re near the sea which keeps temperatures more even. Less hot in summer and not so cold in the winter.

I logged on this evening and was amazed at the numbers already…. wow! 😉
