I have trouble deciding on a title for these little “numbers round-ups” and find that I’ve used “Awesome August” too many times already – but this August was about twice as good as last year’s, so what else can I write? “Amazing” will have to do!
The total number of morsbags made worldwide in August 2019 = 4500.
Great work everyone! We’re pushing at an open door at last.110 fantastic pods added bags to the tally –

Interesting comments
The Originals Book Club writes –
“We are just a bunch of ladies who met though our love of books and wine (and the occasional gin!), who want to give a little back.”Baby Stuff Braintree joined us this month.
“Baby Stuff Braintree is a charity who provide free clothing for 0-5 year olds to those in need. We are planning on using Morsbags to store emergency clothing kits for health professionals to access. Also when we have our drop in sessions we would like to offer a morsbag instead of a carrier bag. We are looking for people who would be keen to join our pod and make some bags for us!”Bagsend sound like my kind of pod!
“August 2019 we held our first sewing pod. We ate cake. We had conversations. We cut and ironed, sewed and snipped. People don’t have to know how to sew or have a sewing machine to join. Cutting, folding, ironing, sorting, cheering people on, keeping beverages topped off; everyone is welcome.”
They’re in Savannah, IL, USALampeterstitch joined on 28th August and wrote –
“I will be making bags to use in my shop. I will also get groups together for sewing bags!”Go for it, everyone! We’re all making a difference, wherever we are and however we organise ourselves. Get those bags out there into people’s hands, free of charge, made from recycled cloth and bearing a morsbags label! 😀
September 1, 2019 at 6:57 pm #21058Thats is amazing. But nor surprising as I have mailed out hundreds of labels this month, including 100 to Baby Stuff Braintree – what a lovely story.
Lots of labels going out to Essex – a very productive county it seems
September 2, 2019 at 1:43 pm #21131You’re doing a great job keeping the stream of labels flowing Ivybags! I like seeing new pods appear, but I LOVE it when they start producing morsbags for their community. YAYY, that’s what it’s all about!
