I had a potter round our village this morning. Waiting for a young family to pass through a gate en route to the dancing class I spotted one of the “dance crew” had her stuff in a little morsbag. I remember Ivybags had made a lot of them out of some fabric with cute teddies on and we gave them out to children at a handout years ago! I vouch for it still being in use 😀
Then going into the RNLI’s coffee morning I met a lady who I often see out with her morsbag. She has one of our original bags – the ones that we handed out in 2007 when our labels were stuck in a postal strike and I was up nearly all night, hand writing them and sewing them on.
https://morsbags.com/forum-archive/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=378She delightedly told me all about how she uses it every day – and I know that’s true ‘cos I never see her without her morsbag! 😀
I scored a few secondhand books and some raffle tickets, then went to the greengrocers. Putting my spuds and sprouts into my morsbag, Kim remarked on my morsbag, this one –
If that doesn’t work, it’s the first one in my entry on page 1
https://morsbags.com/forum-archive/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=1411The competition was in 2009 and I’m still using the bag, though I had to resew some of the hearts after it was washed last time.
Just goes to show how long-lasting morsbags can be.
February 28, 2015 at 7:44 pm #3677Absolutely! I love that post Beattie. I am still using the morsbag I got at the London Zoo bagging which started me off on morsbags. Your hearty bag is exceptionally smart. I have a Best Bag given to me by Offcuts and it is always admired when I have it with me. It is a good conversation opener.
March 2, 2015 at 9:45 pm #3695Hi, I am still using the first two Morsbags I ever made, yellow and cream stripes from my old kitchen curtains. I see two of my bags every day at work from a handout I did about three years ago plus one every week with a friend when we go quick shopping after the gym on a Tuesday…
March 2, 2015 at 10:17 pm #3699Isn’t it lovely to see bags that you’ve made in use so often 😀
March 5, 2015 at 11:56 am #3723How wonderful Beattie. I love your heart bag
May 30, 2015 at 9:41 am #4430Always nice to spot them in the wild 🙂
We should have a twitcher’s morsbag list lol
Still using (and washing) some of the first morsbags I made in 2007.
I love your heart bag beattie
May 30, 2015 at 3:18 pm #4434Thank you Tracy! 😀 It’s been used and washed quite a bit, so I had to resecure some of the hearts a couple of weeks ago.
I’m still using some early morsbags too – some have patches inside from the time I carried lots of timers and extension leads around the village for the Christmas Lights Committee – those electrical plugs have very sharp and “pokey” pins on them which made some holes….
June 2, 2015 at 3:09 pm #4460I am still using the morsbag that started me off. I was bagged at London Zoo when
Gavin had some sculptures on show there!June 2, 2015 at 11:46 pm #4467Was it one of the animal bags Krisaby?
June 29, 2015 at 8:08 pm #4580No, Offcuts, it was a flowery one. I have often wondered if it was one of yours. I will try to take a photo – will probably end up with it on fb as getting a photo on here is sometimes beyond me – lack of time to persevere is the problem!
June 30, 2015 at 11:16 am #4585I can’t remember if we gave Pol any Offfcuts2 bags for that event but I remember that it was the first time you came across morsbags. 🙂
Sorry to hear about the Brentwood coach accident. Something like that affects the whole community. 🙁
